Glenn Condition Update

August 22, 2005.

As you may have seen, Glenn Holland did not play at the recent Broken Records gig on August 19. Glenn was diagnosed August 9 with testicular cancer and had surgery to have the tumor removed August 11.

"TC" is classified as a "rare" form of cancer, affecting around 8,000 American men annually. Most are between the ages of 18-35. There are several different forms of which TC can manifest itself, some more dangerous than others.

As many have come to know, cyclist Lance Armstrong suffered from this disease in the mid-90s, and it had metastasized to his lymph nodes, lungs and brain.

Glenn had full blood work as well as a chest x-ray and CAT scan of his abdominal lymph system. Treatment is determined based on the outcome of these tests and the pathology on the removed tumor .

Happily, all blood, x-rays and CAT scan showed no abnormalities and the type of malignancy in the tumor was one of the less-threatening (seminoma).

Glenn is currently on surveillance, with monthly blood, x-ray and CAT scans and is also researching further consultation and action, including radiation therapy.

The Holland family and 4-4-1 want to thank everyone that has expressed their concern and support and appreciates your prayers in this matter. Life is not certain, and we must value each moment we have.
